WELCOME TO KEY TO GIVING

Our goal is to facilitate lasting connections between individuals and nonprofits serving Greater Miami.  We believe that if you get to know your local nonprofits and the communities and people they serve, you’ll walk away inspired!

The Coral Gables Community Foundation, Key Biscayne Community Foundation, and Himan Brown Charitable Trust have created this platform in order to jumpstart the process. We offer unique volunteer opportunities (TIME), double the impact of your donations through matching grants (TREASURE), and financially and logistically support those who wish to share their unique skills or services with a nonprofit on an ongoing basis (TALENT).

The Key to Giving program has begun a new initiative, our Featured Volunteer Opportunities. Each month we partner with an organization to facilitate the volunteering process. 

Looking for a broader selection of volunteer opportunities? The Key to Giving Volunteer Program has partnered with nonprofits throughout Miami-Dade County to facilitate and encourage volunteering in our community.

Donate Treasure

Throughout the donation matching period, Key Biscayne Community Foundation, Coral Gables Community Foundation, and Himan Brown Charitable Trust will match donations of up to $500 per donor through the donation portal below.

Make a donation to one of these nonprofits that are making a difference throughout Miami in youth education, community prosperity, women, and families in need.

Donate Talent

The Key to Giving program is looking for talented individuals, groups, organizations, or businesses to create new programming that will exist within our current Sister City Initiative. For some examples of how citizens have partnered with the Sister City Initiative to create consistent and lasting programming, please click on the link below. Four concepts will be selected annually from our applicant pool and each will be awarded a $2,500 grant in support of its vision.

Key to Giving & Sister City Initiative

The Key Biscayne Community Foundation, Coral Gables Community Foundation, and Himan Brown Charitable Trust approach charitable giving with a catalytic philanthropy model in order to maximize the opportunities afforded by community and partnership. Together, we practice catalytic philanthropy in grant making to Liberty City programming via the Key to Giving program.

Each month we partner with an organization to facilitate the volunteering process. If the timing doesn’t work for you this round, don’t worry. On the first Monday of every month we will have a new Volunteer Project that may be a better match for your schedule and interests.
