If you’re bringing a group of children please have one chaperone present for every 10 individuals. Individuals under 16 years of age require adult supervision.  Please, no drop-offs.   Areas to be cleaned vary from month to month, based on the needs of the park.

Please be at the park promptly at 9 am so that everyone can start out at the same time and complete the activity before it gets too hot in the late morning.

This is a great way to earn volunteer hours for school, so please tell your classmates about this opportunity.  All Volunteers will receive a letter certifying their volunteer hours.

Cleanups are always held on the second Saturday of each month, so if you cant make this event check back next month.

This program meets at the park Nature Center; please bring comfortable closed-toe shoes, insect repellent, work gloves, small hand tools, and protection from the sun. Long shirts/pants, water, hats, and sunglasses are highly recommended.

This volunteer event will be followed by a National Water Dance event — highlighting Miami’s water quality issues through spoken, visual, and performance art. Free art workshops will be available — and Miami Waterkeeper will be there providing environmental education information for attendees!

A beach cleanup will occur the Friday before as preparation for the event. Big Blue & You needs the park to be as free from plastic pollution as possible to really stress the use of reusable straws, utensils, and other items during the festival. You are more than welcome to come to the event even if you don’t attend the cleanup, but it would be greatly appreciated if you could participate in both.

Lotus House is ready to begin programming at the new Lotus Village and they need YOU!

Follow this link to see some of the programs they have come up with. They have the spaces, they just need you and your ideas! Lotus House relies on volunteers to come up with activities for their residents, and would appreciate any and all help they can get! They will be leading activities for their women, children, and both of them together (including mommy & me)!

Lotus House is especially (but not only) looking for volunteers to commit 1+ hours a week.
